Schema markup validator
Test a URL or paste JSON-LD. Find syntax errors and the required and recommended schema.org properties your rich results are missing.
Free to use, no signup needed.
Validate structured data in seconds
Test a live URL, or paste JSON-LD or a block of HTML before you publish it. The validator parses every JSON-LD script, reports exact syntax errors, expands @graph and nested items, and compares each schema.org type with the properties Google documents for rich results, including Product, Offer, Review, Article, FAQPage, HowTo, BreadcrumbList, Event, Recipe, VideoObject, LocalBusiness, Organization and JobPosting.
Required properties must be present for a type to qualify for its rich result. Recommended properties make the result richer and help AI assistants describe you accurately. Fix errors first, then add recommended properties where you have real data. Never add markup for content that isn't visible on the page.
Structured data is one of the signals the AI visibility checker uses, and it's part of every page check in the SEO checker.
Frequently asked questions
What is schema markup?
Schema markup is structured data, usually JSON-LD in a script tag, that describes a page in schema.org vocabulary: this is a Product with this price, an Article by this author, an Organization with this logo. Search engines and AI assistants use it to understand the page and to build rich results.
Is this the same as Google's Rich Results Test?
No. This validator checks JSON-LD syntax and the properties Google documents as required or recommended for common types. Google also applies content and quality policies, so passing here does not guarantee a rich result. Use both.
Why does it say a property is missing when my page shows it?
Structured data has to include the value itself. If the price appears on the page but not in your JSON-LD, search engines don't connect the two. Add the property to the markup.
Which format should I use: JSON-LD, Microdata or RDFa?
Google recommends JSON-LD because it sits in one script block, separate from your HTML. This tool lists Microdata and RDFa types it finds, but only validates JSON-LD in detail.
