Agent included.
RareMatter installs as a real app window — a Chrome app from the address bar, a dock icon, its own taskbar entry, an offline shell — today, from your browser. Signed native builds (.dmg / .exe / .AppImage) are next on the bench.
Chrome app
Install it from
the address bar.
Chrome / Edge / Brave / Arc — hit Install (appears when your browser is ready) or the ⊕ icon right in the address bar. It becomes a standalone Chrome app: its own window, dock/taskbar icon, no tabs.
Menu path — ⋮ → “Install RareMatter”. Same result, two clicks, works on Chrome OS and Android too.
What you get — offline shell (opens instantly), app-switcher entry, your Atoms and token already signed in. The web version stays in sync — install is a shell, not a walled garden.
Chrome extension
The agent,
on every page.
Right-click any selection on any site — explain, review or fix it with the free agent, right where you're reading. Same wallet as Web, Chat, CLI and Cloud.
Every platform
One click,
any device.
Chrome, Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera — Install button or address-bar ⊕. Full Chrome app.
Safari (Sonoma+): File → Share → Add to Dock. It lands next to your real apps.
Install from the browser, or Firefox: hamburger → “Install RareMatter Site”.
Share → Add to Home Screen. Home-screen icon, standalone window, same account.
Own app window
No tabs, no address bar — just the agent, in a standalone window with your theme.
Offline shell
The shell caches on install — the app opens instantly even on flaky wifi.
Same Atoms
Sign in once — your balance, token and jobs are the same as on the web.
Desktop FAQ
App
questions.
Is this a "real" app?
It's a full PWA: installable, offline-capable, standalone window, app icons — the same tech behind many native-feeling apps. Native signed binaries are the next milestone and will show up right here.
Does it cost anything?
$0 — it's the same free product. 100 Atoms a day, free models, no upgrade wall.
Will my sign-in persist?
Yes — the app shares storage with the site, so logging in on the web logs you into the desktop window.
